Yep.
You know it’s time for a new mp3 player when you have to remove songs to make room to add new songs. Particularly when you are having a hard time deciding which songs to remove because you like them all…sigh.

So, it is official. I have outgrown my pink Walkman mp3 player. I need more giga-giga-giga.

Hey look…a blog post :-)
So, I’m trying out the Blog Editor on the internet browser, Flock. It’s powered by Mozilla (the same folks that brought you Firefox). Flock is a browser that specializes in the social networking stuff. I haven’t quite figured it all out yet, but I think I could like it.

Okay, let me hit Publish and see if this bad boy works…

Apparently I have a gross lack of blogging focus. Sorry.

I am VERY active on facebook. Which is probably why I am not good at blogging regularly. One of my favorite facebook applications is called ‘Pieces of Flair’ by RockYou. I love flair. They’re pretty much buttons.  But when browsing for flair, I can help but roll my eyes – and just plain laugh – at some of the ones that are meant to be ‘deep’ or thought-provoking. They’re really just stupid. Here are a few I saw just this morning…my thoughts in blue.

• I’ve built a wall. Not to block anyone out, but to see who loves me enough to climb over.  (Oh…my…word. I see this one all the time and it is sooo self-centered and self-indulgent…ugh.)
• For every girl with a broken heart, there’s a boy with a glue gun. (Lol, romantic consolation courtesy of Michael’s and Hobby Lobby.)
• When I text you it means I’m missing you…when I don’t it means I’m waiting for you to miss me. (Sappy and Manipulative Warning!!)
• The worst thing about being lied to is knowing you weren’t worth the truth. (As if the person adding this flair to their board, or sending it, has never themselves actually lied, lol.)
• Love is when the music stops, but the dance goes on. (Sappy.)
• Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain. (This is  the mother of all sappy sentiments. Sheesh, I have read this more times than I can count…I roll my eyes every time.)

Here are the kind of heart-felt sentiments I prefer…

• Never squat with your spurs on.
• Our effortless friendship fit perfectly with my laziness.
• You’ve been on my mind lately. Quite frankly, you’re heavy. Get off.
• I reject your reality and substitute a Star Trek episode of my choosing.
• Pinatas promote violence against flamboyant animals.
• A day without sunshine is like, you know, night.

This is middle Georgia. Snow comes once every 5 to 7 years. We’ve been back in Georgia 7 years now and this is the first real snowfall besides some 5 minute piddly flurries that we’ve had. So folks have been excited, and rightfully so. I have been a little annoyed today at people who have lived for a time in areas that get real winters and real snow (we did 4 years in Erie, PA) and now live here. I have heard or read online several comments about Georgians being dumb and ridiculous when it comes to snow. Really? You think? Maybe that’s because Georgia never gets any…so why be a wet blanket? Geez. There are kids that saw snow for the first time in their lives today. And some adults that are born and raised in the southeast just hardly ever get to experience it…why not just let people be excited?

It has been a most gloriously beautiful day in middle Georgia…I hope you ALL were able to enjoy it for what it was because it will be a while before it comes again…Snow Day ‘09 Middle Georgia Edition.

I read The Huffington Post quite regularly. I know that will come as a shock to some of you on both sides of the political aisle, but I like to know what all sides of the spectrum are saying. But I can’t lie…I crack up almost every time I am on that site. People’s comments are alternately maddening and hilarious. Maddening because they cannot have a dialog with anyone having a dissenting view. As soon as someone disagrees with a Democrat, the name calling begins. Either that or the ‘Bush is evil’ tired line is thrown out.

So what cracks me up? Those same commenter will do it to their own, too. You better not be liberal/Democrat and actually have something negative to say about your own party on there…woo-wee…you’ll have to convince them you’re not a ‘rethug’, ‘repug’, ‘retard’, or whatever. It’s a hoot.

I mean, dang. Wrongdoing is wrongdoing. Weird is weird. Opinions are opinions. What is the big freakin’ deal?

But it is highly entertaining.

My New Year’s Resolution for 2009 is to get my time management – or lack thereof – under control. I used to be on top of things…now, not so much.

So how am I doing after the first month? I think I’m running behind.
