And hello to everyone else. I know its been awhile…because Meghan told me it has been. I am hanging my head in blogging shame. So sorry. And its not that there hasn’t been loads of activity in our house, I just haven’t had the motivation to actually write about it.
But here’s something…tonight we went to Taylor’s 8th grade academic awards night at his school. He received a certificate for an exceeding score on the 8th grade writing test (a test which must be passed to move on to the 9th grade, but his score exceeded…pretty nifty). And I received a 2008 Super Hawk Parent award for volunteering. I got a certificate and a paper weight and the pleasure of walking across the gym in front of total strangers and about seventy-five 8th graders. Yay me. What was pretty neat were the cheers from my kids and a few of their friends. There’s nothing that makes you feel simultaneously cool and old as hearing 8th graders yell, “Yeah Mrs. Torres!”
